Commentary	On 25 March 1632, Pieter Persoij, from Amsterdam, cook, assisted by Judith Jans, his mother, living next to the Hal, was betrothed to Trijntje Bartholomeus, from Amsterdam, 26, assisted by Bart Philipsz., her father (of R 27378 of Montias2), and Jannetje Jans, her mother, living on the Kloveniersdoelen (DTB 438/283). On 8 October 1633, Pieter Persoij, widower of Trijn Bartholomeus, cook, was betrothed to Marij Dalje (DTB 438/283). Pieter Persoij, master cook, was the son of Michiel Persoij and Judith Jans (or Frans) of INVNO 298. According to a contract dated 2 May 1634, Pieter Persoij took on an apprentice to learn the cooking trade (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven R.G.P. 144(1974), p. 52). Pieter Persoij was buried in the F.K. on 16 September 1656 (DTb 765/35). Pieter Persoij II, who was perhaps the son of the owner of the goods in the present inventory, was married to Catrina Oosthuysen when he went to the East Indies. After Catrina had died during his absence, an inventory was taken of her possessions on 9 January 1660 (NA 1857, film 1043, fol. 1043).
