Commentary	On 4 February 1662, Joachim Nicolaes Tonnebinder, from Berlin, merchant, 35, living on the Fluwele Burgwal, was betrothed to Constantia Slighers, assisted by her uncle Gerart Sligher, living on the Swanenburghs Burghwal. The banns were said to have been announced in the Waalse Kerck without hindrance (DTB 482/478). Gerard Sligher was probably related to Anthony Sligher of R 20039, but the exact relation has not been ascertained. On Hans Goverts, who was surety (cautionaris) for Joachem and Niclaes Tonnebinder, see R 1066 of Montias1 and R 7602 of Montias2. Joachim Nicolaes Tonnebinder was apparently a spices merchant (the inventory contained various merchandise, including raisins, prunes, sugar, and pepper).
