CommentaryOn 31 March 1657, Barent Admirael, from Amsterdam, 21 years old, assisted by his father Johannes Admirael (of INVNO 1036 and of R 35467 of Montias2), living on the Buyten Amstel, was betrothed to Geertruijt Passchier, living in Anckeveen (DTB 477/135). On 4 June 1665, Geertruijt Passchier, widow of Barent van der Bent, was betrothed to Jan Macaree (DTB 487/182). (Note that Jan Hendricx Admirael also used the family name Van der Bent). Jan Macare(e) was the brother of Abraham Macare of INVNO 549. The books owned by the late Gertruijt Passchier included Institut Calvini and the works of Roelof Pietersz. These point to a Reformed (Calvinist) faith.
