Introduction	Inventaris gemaeckt bij Meynert Gout deurvaerder van den hoogen Raad van Hollandt ten versoecke van de kinderen en erffgenamen van wijlen Bartelt Gerritsz. in syn leven coperslager uyt cracht van seeckere open brieven van benefitie van inventaris by de weeskamer van de erffgenamen op den 27 Decembris lestleden van den selve Hoge Raad geimpetreert van alle de goederen by de eers. Bartel Gerritsz. metter doot ontruijmt en achtergelaten.
Commentary	On 12 November 1624, several Amsterdam dealers in copper ware including Bartelt Gerretzen (van der Hart) (see the list in the NOTES on Isaack Moors of R 26927 of Montias2) contracted with potgieters (pot casters) of Kampen, Deventer, and Zwolle, who undertook to deliver copper pots and pans for 12 f. per 100 pounds but to charge at least 13 f. to other buyers, unless they came from these three towns (I. van Eeghen, Kopere potten en pannen, Maandblad Amstelodamum 55(1968), p. 222). He may be identical with Bartel Gerritsz., living in de drie smetjes behind the Hal, at whose request the inventory of Cornelisje Wessels (INVNO 183) was taken in 1648. He married at least twice. The name of his wife at the time of his death was Ermpje Jacobs (cited in INVNO 1720). On 20 March 1625, Bartelt Gerritsz. (van der Hart) was named guardian by the Orphan Chamber over the children of a previous marriage left by Gerrit Corten, maker of cannon shot (WK 5073/789, fol. 30vo.) His son Gerrit Bartelsz. van der Hart (who married in 1639) both bought from and sold silk to Clementia van den Vondel in 1636 (Jaarboek Amstelodamum 14(1916), p. 178). The son is likely to be the auction buyer Gerrit Barthelsz. of R 23382 of Montias2. Gerrit Bartelsz. van der Hart was said to be 24 in a deposition of 1 March 1639 (summarized in the TEXT of R 49 of Montias1). Already in 1650, Barthelt Gerritsz. had been insolvent (INVNO 1720) but was bailed out by Abraham Geens and Wouter van der Hart (his brother?) who stood as sureties for him. He died in 1652. It is remarkable how little overlap there is between the inventory taken in 1650 and the present inventory.
