Postscript: Aldus geinventariseert ... ten huyse van den overleden staende op de singel ten overstan van Sr. Joan de Reus burgomeester tot Rotterdam ende Isaacq Hiole als testamentaire voogden over de voors. onmondige soon Roeloff de Swaen mitsgaders int bywesen van Margarita de Swaen ende Willem Hogendorp haer man in Amsterdam den 22 January 1665.
Commentary	On 3 May 1636, Nicolaas (Roeloffsz.) de Swaen, from Rotterdam, spices merchant, 25 years old, living on the Coningsgracht, was betrothed to Elisabeth de Reus, living in Rotterdam. (She signed in an illiterate manner) (DTB 444/283). On 1 August 1636, Nicolaes Swaen, spices merchant, on the corner of the Lijnbaensteech, 26, and his wife Lysbet de Reus, 27 made a deposition at the request of Jacob Lucasz., ship carpenter of the Admiralty (NA 995, film 1225, fol. 478, Not. G. Coren). On 30 May 1638, Nicolaes de Swaen and Elisabet de Reus had their daughter Margriete baptized in the N.K. in the presence of Dirckge de Reus (DTB 42/84). On 2 February 1644, Niclaes Roelofsz. (Swaen) and Elisabeth de Reus had their son Roelof baptized in the N.K. in the presence of Cornelis de Reus (DTB 42/395). On 1 Januay 1672, Roelof Swaen II, whose baptism has just been cited, sold half of the house located at 83-86 Singel (corner of Lijnbaansteeg) to Maria Flamen, widow of Willem Hogendorp (Maandblad Amstelodamum 28(1941), p.123). Roelof Swaen was one of the heirs of Elisabeth de Reus cited in the INTRO. Maria Flamen was apparently Willem Hogendorp's last wife. The spices merchant Isaack Hiole, who was a guardian of the children of the late Elisabeth de Reus, was a buyer at Orphan Chamber auction (R 23398 of Montias2).
