Commentary	Lucas Lambertsz. Cock may have been the brother of Arent Lambertsz. Cock, at whose request the goods in INVNO 897 were sold. Arent Lambertsz. was the half brother of the beer distributor Philips Lenertsz. of R 29712 of Montias2. The only obstacle to this hypothesis is that Arent Lambertsz. and Philips Lenertsz. were cited in documents that were dated nearly 50 years earlier than the present inventory. In an act of 31 December 1636, Jacob Luycasz. Cock, from Zwolle, contracted with Jacob Abrahamsz. van Halmael (the son of Abraham Halmael of R 20029 of Montias2) to exchange linen for tulips (for details on this transaction see the NOTES to R 20029). It is very unlikely, given the date, that this Jacob Luycasz. could have been the son of Lucas Lambertsz., but it seems probable that the two men were related.
