Commentary | On 28 October 1611, Evert van Lintelo, wine dealer, presented his six children with Tryn Hendricx before the Orphan Chamber (WK 5073/787). Evert van Lintelo I was said to be 47 in a deposition of 27 May 1610 he made with Cornelis Segers, cloth dealer, 49, regarding trade in silk cloth with Denmark (NA 224, film 190). He was buried on 17 November 1624 (DTB 1054/6vo). On Cornelis Segers, see below. On 31 December 1624, Cornelis Jansz. Delff (of R 21588 of Montias2) was named guardian over the three children of Evert Lintelo I by the Orphan Chamber (WK 5073/513, fol. 24v/25). One of the children of Evert van Lintelo I was Evert van Lintelo II, 10 years old, the presumed father of Evert Lintelo III, under whom the goods in this inventory were held. Evert Lintelo II married Trijntje Ooms, the daughter of the soap boiler Jan Claesz. Oom (I) (probably of R 29368 of Montias2) on 17 July 1625. In 1631, Evert van Lintelo (II), living op 't Water, paid a tax of 40 f. (Kohier, fol. 70vo, p. 17). Evert van Linteloo II was buried on 10 October 1634 (DTB 1054/84vo). On 15 May 1635, Evert van Lintelo (III), sick in health, gave a procuration to the Notary Cornelis Tou for himself and for the other heirs of Evert van Lintelo (II) (NA 863, Not. van Zwieten). On 27 April 1638, Johannes Brintrup, merchant living in Amsterdam, and Evert van Lintelo (III), were said to be heirs of Hendrick van Lintele (NA 867, Not. van Zwieten). On 6 October 1643, Cornelis Segers, cloth dealer, lived in de Zoutvat in the Warmoesstraet to the North of Abraham de Marez (II) (Kam, Waar was dat huis in de Warmoesstraat 1968, p.36/11). It was perhaps Evert van Lintelo III who was buried, coming from the Brouwersgracht, on 3 February 1670 (DTB 1056/24). Catharina van Lintelo, who was probably the daughter of Evert van Lintelo and Trijntje (Catharina) Ooms, was married to Patricius Kreight (?). Her death inventory was taken on 11 April 1657 (NA 1463, film 2555). | |
