Commentary | Among the books: Cort begrijf van de Institutie Calvin by Johannes Sleydani and Les amours des deesses by le sieur de la Serre. Jacob Rombouts ten Burgh, bachelor, from Leeuwarden, is unidentified. He apparently rented rooms from the widow Lysbeth Abrahams. Abraham Gangelt who signed the inventory is identical with Abraham van Ganghen of R 34251 of Montias2. In view of his signature, it is highly probable that the widow in whose house the goods of Rombout ten Burgh were found was Eliabeth Abrahams van Gangel, cited in the NOTES of R 34251. She was 29 when she married Barent Jochemsz. Coop van Groen, who eventually went bankrupt. (The act of betrothal is dated 8 June 1629 (DTB 439/192)). She was said to be a widow in an act of 18 April 1649. Jan Pietersz. Bosman who also signed may be identical with Jan Bosman, spices merchant, who was said to be 25 in a deposition dated 3 March 1639 (cited in R 23420 of Montias2). | |
