Introduction	No introduction. The inventory seems to have been been drawn up after the death of Frederick Alewijn at the request of his widow.
Commentary	Frederick Alewijn (1603-1665) was the son of Dirck Alewijn (1571-1637) and of Maria Schurman (1575-1621). (Dirck Alewijn remarried with Eva Stalpert van der Wiele, widow of Philips Soet (of R 21444) on 20 May 1655.) He was appointed Schout in 1658 and Lieutenant of the Militia in 1650 (captain in 1657). He married 1) Agatha Geelvinck (1617-1638) on 15 September 1637, and, after her death, 2) Eva Bicker (1609-1665), widow of Dirck de Graeff, daughter of Jacob Bicker and of Anna Roelofs (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 498). He was the brother of the collector Abraham Alewijn of R 25547 of Montias2. On 13 September 1646, an accounting was made of the marmore statuen which had been sold in Amsterdam by Sr. Jacques Breyel of Antwerp. Frederick Alewijn had bought for 104 f. (J. Denuce, Na Pieter Paul Rubens, pp. 57-8). The only stone statue that appears in the inventory is a steen tronitie.
