Commentary	On 17 December 1649, Abraham Duwel, spices merchant (cruijdenier), widower of Aachtge Egberts, was betrothed to Anneke van der Puijningh, 31, assisted by her sister Maritie van der Puijningh (DTB 467/357). On 26 September 1652, Abraham Duwel and Anneke van de Puijn had their son Abraham in the O.K. in the presence of Adriaen Duwel, Jacob Evertsz., Neltie Hendricx, and Geesje Claes (DTB 9/38). On 10 March 1656, Abraham Duwel, from Amsterdam, broker (mackelaer), widower of Anne van der Puijningh, assisted by Pieter du Camp, living on the Rosegracht, was betrothed to Susanna Weverincx, from Hamburg, 38, her parents dead, assisted by her sister Helena Weverings, living on the Heeregraft (DTB 475/372). On 19 January 1669, the Commissary for Marriage Affairs dealt with the case of Joannes Duwel (... to Cornelis Molde) versus his father Abraham Duwel (Jaarboek C.B.G. 34(1980) p. 116). On 25 July 1675, Susanna Wevering, widow of Abraham Duwel, was apparently insolvent. Her creditor was Ferdinando de Molde (De Navorscher 46(1896), p. 466).
