Postscript: Alle welcke meubelen ende huijsraden door Lysbeth Martens ende Wijntje Willems gesworene schatsers alhier sijn getaxeert ten prijsen als hierboven achter jder post staet uijtgedruckt ... den viii December 1664. Commentary	On 9 June 1644, Edmont Sardenel and Anna Marij Burette (Buret), had their son Daniel baptized in the O.K. in the presence of Daniel Buirette (Buret) and Abigael le Grand, the wife of Samuel des Marees (DTB 8/16). He later remarried with Barbara Godijn, who was probably the daughter of Samuel Godijn of INVNO 2002, in view of the fact that Samuel Godijn's mother was named Barbe Vivien (see R 1018 of Montias1). On 25 September 1659, Barbara Godin, widow of Pieter Chardenel, was betrothed to Edmond Schardinel, widower of Anna Maria Buret (DTB 480/191). On 11 April 1636, Sr. Emont Sardenel, 26 years old, and Tobias Martsenborch, 25, made a deposition at the request of Abraham Eschougler (incomplete document) (NA 695A, film 4981, Not. J. Warnaerts). Edmond Sardinel, according to a deposition of 24 September 1638, dealt in herring (NA 696A, film 4982). On 11 October 1649, Jan Poelhuysen and Pieter Croonenburch, silk cloth dealers, and the notary P. de Bary went to the house of Lodewijk van Wou, likewise silk cloth dealer, who showed Poelhuysen and Croonenburch some silk fabric which was said to be pour de soie noir beau par excellence. Wou said that he had bought this silk fabric, supposed to be pure pour de soie from sr. Edmond Schardinael. Poelhuysen and Croonenburch opined that it was not pure pour de soie but inferior merchandise (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven R.G.P. 144(1974), pp. 538-9). Barbara Godin was buried on 9 October 1679 (DTB 1102/80). The present inventory is exceptional in that it was assessed by an artist painter who made no attributions of any art in it.
