Commentary | On 16 November 1644, Anthonis Bartholomeusz. Morcher, widower of Machteltje van Vlaenderen, was betrothed to Catharina Vrient, assisted by her sister Stijntje Vriendt (DTB 461/200). Catharina Hendricks Vriendt may have been the sister of the tailor Hendrick Hendricksz. Goet Vrient who, in a deposition dated 1 July 1636, was said to be 28 years old (NOTES to R 25035 of Montias2). Jan Blom (Bloem), cited in the INTRO, is probably the artist of that name. Several works by Jan Blom (Bloem) and his brother Mattheus Bloem are represented in this inventory. |
