Introduction	Inventaris van de meublen, huijsraet ende anders bevonden ten huijse van Jan de Coocker staende op de Heeregracht. Postscript: Aldus geinventariseert ende beschreven den 21e ende 22e marty 1644.
Commentary	The owner of the goods in this inventory is unquestionably identical with Jan de Koockel of INVNO 506, dated 7 December 1644, seven months after the present inventory, as the substantial overlap between the two inventories testifies. In the later inventory Jan de Koocker pledged his goods as collateral for a debt that he owed his mother-in-law Marritge Alberts. She may have advanced the money that he owed his creditors at the time he became insolvent. The address on the Heerengracht coincides with that of Pieter de Koker de jonge of INVNO 1236, who may have been Jan's brother or other close relative. In INVNO 506, several paintings are attributed to Haarlem artists, some of whom, such as Guldewagen, Pieter de Grebber, and Willem de Poorter, are rarely found in Amsterdam inventories. This suggests that the De Koockers may have moved from Haarlem to Amsterdam.
