Commentary | Gerrit Jansz. Coesvelt was chosen a member of the Amsterdam Raed in 1578. He was a grain merchant living on the O.Z. Voorburgwal in het Coesvelt, next to de Pot. He married Marij Hendrick Pouwelszoonsdr., the daughter of Henrick Pouwelsz. and Stijn Allertsdr. Boelens. He was a church master (O.K.) in 1559 and 1578. He was buried on 27 September 1578, she, on 12 January 1608 (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 25). Ellerdt Boelensz., who was one of the executors of Mary Hendricks's testament, was probably her grandfather. For the sale of Mary Hendricks's goods after her death, see INVNO 761 and the TEXT of R 934 of Montias1. Claes Reyniersz., another executor of the testament of Mary Hendricks, was the indiviudal person who received the net proceeds of the sale of 18 April 1608. On 13 November 1619, Dirck Claesz. Schepel (probably of R 30126 of Montias2) and Jan Jansz. Coninck, as executors of the testament of Claes Reyniersz., declared that the children of Hendrick Boelisz., procureur, were entitled to a sum of 3,000 f. by legacy from Claes Reyniersz. and 1,200 f. from Claes Andriesz. (WK 5073/789). |
