CommentaryAlmost certainly incomplete, in view of the fact that Jacob Jacobsz. Bicker left an estate estimated at f 375,000 (Elias, Vroedschap van Amsterdam, vol. 1, p. 359). The merchant Jacob Jacobsz. Bicker (1581-24 June 1626) married Anna Roelofsdr. (1589-June 1626), daughter of Roelof Egbertsz., burgomaster in 1611, 1614, and 1617, on 29 June 1608 (Elias, ibid.) He was the son of Jacob Pietersz. Bicker and the nephew of Dieuwertje Bicker of R 20270 of Montias2. On 27 September 1628, an accounting was made for the Orphan Chamber van wegen het sterfhuys van Jacob Jacobsz. Bicker. Various amounts had been paid for the children, including for books, to Salomon Meurandt (of R 22104 of Montias2) and for binding books, to Jan Willemsz. bookbinder (WK 5073/1092). The son of Jacob Jacosz. Bicker and Anna Roelofs, named Hendrick Bicker (1615-1698), became captain of the militia. He married Eva Geelvinck, daughter of Jan Cornelisz. Geelvinck (1579-1651) and Aechte de Vlaming Oudtshoorn (1588-1661) in 1639 (Kopstukken 1600-1800, p. 115, portraits reproduced).
