Introduction | Den 6e julij 1616 zijn vercoft de naervolgende goederen achtergelaten by Wybrant Warwijck
Commentary | Wijbrant Warwijck (1566-11 July 1615) was the son of Gerbrand Warwijck and Aeff Cornelisdr. Slachgen. He was named a member of the Vroedschap of Amsterdam in 1615. In May 1598 he sailed as Vice-admiral of a fleet appointed by the Nieuwe Compagnie van de vaart Oost-Indie, under the command of Jacob van Neck, and returned to Amsterdam in 1600. In 1602, he was named admiral of a fleet of 14 ships. He returned from the Far East with richly laden ships in 1607. He left assets evaluated 30000 f. at the time of his death. (It is possible therefore that the auction did not comprise all his movable goods). (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 299).
