IntroductionTen selven dagh [7e augusti anno 1601] opt versoeck van Willem Willemsz. vercocht 't naervolgende goed.
CommentaryWillem Willemsz., at whose request the goods were sold, may have been the father of Baartje Willems, who was betrothed to Niclaes Rauwart Jacobszoon on 16 July 1604. She was said to be living op 't Water, which would be consistent with the address of the sale above (Damsluijs) (DTB 665/357). Willem Willemsz., who took on the name of Van Beynsdorp, was a soap boiler in den Hamer. He was the most prominent zeepsieder in Amsterdam in his time. He paid a tax of 20 f. in 1585. He died in 1626. (Van Dillen, Amsterdam, p. 120).
