Commentary | The late Jacob Huych Thomasz. was named concierge in 1587. After his death in 1617, his son Thomas Jacobsz. Haringh took over his function. The concierge handled executoriale verkopingen, the sale of goods at the order of judicial authorities by reason of bankruptcy or other causes (I. van Eeghen, Jaarboek Amstelodamum, 61(1969), p. 74). Most of his goods were sold on 10 August 1617 (INVNO 889), but one valuable painting and some jewelry were sold in the present sale (One juwel met deamanten ingeset fetched 629 f.) | |
