Commentary | The owner of the goods was Cornelis Willemsz. de Goijer, cloth dealer, who transferred a fourth part of a house on the Nieuwen Dijck to Jan Gerritsz., also lakenkoper, on 2 February 1585. In 1585, living on the Nieuwen Dijck, he paid a tax of 6 f. (Van Dillen, Amsterdam, p. 128). He invested 600 f. in the first subscription for V.O.C. shares (Van Dillen, Het oudste aandeelhoudersregister, p. 194). It was presumably his daughter Teuntje Cornelis de Goijer who married Lambert Gerritsz. Ruijl (at first painter, later merchant) of INVNO 596. Gysbert de Goijer, who signed the receipt for the net proceeds of the auction, was probably Gysbert Jacobsz. de Goijer, born in 1562, living in the Warmoesstraet, who married Nelletgen van Heussen on 9 February 1603 (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 129.) |
