Commentary | Mr. Claes (alias Nicolas Petri), from Deventer, was a writer on book keeping and philosophy in 't Gulden Claverblat on the O.Z. Voorburgwal. He was also a zeevartkundig (his inventory comprised some astronomical instruments including an astrolabe.) He paid a tax of 6 f. in 1585 (Van Dillen, Amsterdam, p. 71). His goods were sold separetely, and brought f. 477:16:--. Among the buyers of these books were Barent Adriaensz. of R 3608 and Jan Evertsz. (Cloppenburch) of R 29002 of Montias2. |
