CommentaryDirck Tijmensz. Cortenhoeff was a brewer on the Rockin in't Duyfgen, behind the old Weeshuis. He was buried on 20 September 1595. His widow Sibille Evertsdr. Brenart was the daughter of Evert Reynertsz. Brenart and of Remerich Claesdr. Dirck Tijmensz. was captain of the militia in 1578 and Regent of the Oude Mannen- en Vrouwenhuis in 1589 (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 204). He paid a tax of 20 f. in 1585, living on the Rockin. He had acquired the poorterschap of Amsterdam in 1589 (Van Dillen, Amsterdam, p. 162.)
