CommentaryOn 21 January 1622, Elias Eliaess, goldsmith, 22 years old, assisted by his father Elias Claesz., living in the Minnebroerssteegh, was betrothed to Willemptje Jans, 28, assisted by her mother Floryntje Geumes, living on the Rusland ( Oud Holland, 3(1885), p. 142.) On 29 August 1623, Elias Claesz. was a witness at the baptism of Sara, the daughter of the painter Nicolaes Elias Pickenoy. Elias Claesz. was the father of both Elias Eliasz. and Claes Eliasz. (the painter Nicolaes Eliasz. Pickenoy of R 8367 of Montias2 (see also Oud Holland, 4(1886), p.82).
