BuyerJoris Jacobsz. op de Rouanse kaij naest de Poort van Gent
Buyer FamilyJacobsz., Joris
Buyer NotesThe buyer may be the silk weaver Joris Jacobsz. who drew up a contract with Abraham van der Beeck, also silk weaver, on 11 June 1614, whereby Joris Jacobsz. agreed to desist from weaving certain types of black silk cloths (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven R.G.P. 78(1933) p. 84-85). In an act dated 15 September 1618, Abraham van Beeck, silk dyer, ceded his household goods to Philips Sweerts, silk spinner, as part payment on a loan he had obtained from him (ibid. p. 303). On other acts involving Philips Sweerts, see the NOTES to R 20029. Abraham van der Beeck cannot be identical with Abraham Beeck, the brother of Isaack Beck of R 2873 who was born in 1624.
