BuyerJan Arentsz. voors [Delff]
Provenancesee R 6828
Buyer FamilyDelft, Jan Arentsz.
Buyer NotesOn 3 November 1626, Jan Arentsz. Delft, 28, no living parents, assisted by Zacharias Lambertsz. Paspoort, his swager, was betrothed to Aaltje Jonckeijn, from Amsterdam, 30, assisted by her mother Adriana Coolhaas (DTB 431/473). Zacharias Lambrechtsz. was the son of Lambrecht Nicolaesz. Paspoort who was buried in Amsterdam on 22 April 1630 (Dudok van Heel in Jaarboek C.B.G. 26(1972), p. 168). In 1622, Jan Arentsz. (probably Delft) and Barent Janssen Kuijper (probably Barent Jansz., cooper, cited in the NOTES to R 29587) were said to be the guardians named in the testament of Elbert Symonsz. Pool for the latter's children (WK 5073/1192). At a sale of jewelry left by Christiaen Cornelisz. Stuling, dated 25 February 1627, Jan Arentsz. Delft, living on the Nieuwen Dijck, bought a diamond for 107 f. His surety (borg) was Jacob Cornelisz (Delft ?), one of the three men at whose request the sale was held. On Jacob Cornelisz. Delft, the son of Cornelis Jansz. Delft, see the NOTES to R 21588. Jan Arentsz., who apparently remarried with Brechtge Ariens, died in 1637. For his death inventory, see INVNO 269. He paid a tax of 100 f. in 1631, at which time he lived on the West side of the Keysersgracht (Kohier, fol. 95, page 23).

BuyerYsack van Rijnsvelt
Buyer FamilyRijnsvelt (Rijnevelt), Ysack van
Buyer NotesIsaack van Rijnevelt was baptized in Amsterdam on 23 June 1599. (Dudok van Heel in Jaarboek C.B.G. 26(1972), p. 172). On 1 January 1626, Isaack van Rijnevelt (signs Rinevelt), from Amsterdam, hatstuffer (hoedestoffeerder), 26 years old, no living parents, assisted by his uncle Mathijs Jansz. Eger, living on the Nieuwe Dijck, was betrothed to Duijfje Jacobs, assisted by her father Jacob Symonsz. (DTB 431/2). Duijfje Jacobs (van Dijck) was baptized in Amsterdam on 7 August 1605 and was buried there on 6 November 1669 (Dudok van Heel, loc. cit.) Mathijs Jansz., the uncle of Isaack van Rijnevelt, was a cloth merchant. He was married to Aeltje Siewerts, who may be identical with the woman of that name, believed to be an uitdraagster (of R 22011). Jacob Symonsz., born in Amsterdam in 1570, was a textile worker (droogscheerder). In 1630, Isaack van Rijnevelt was noted as a hosiery dealer (kousenkoper) (Dudok van Heel, op. cit. p.p. 272-3). Isaack van Reijnevelt paid a tax of 5 f. in 1631, at which time he lived on the Nieuwen Dijck (where the auction sale apparently took place) (Kohier, fol. 77, p. 19). His inventory was taken on 23 December 1631 (NA 713, film 5147, fol. 458 and foll.) It is not known how (or even if) he was related to the painter Rijnevelt or with Lysbeth Quirijnen van Rijnevelt, the first wife of Isaack van Gherwen (of INVNO 237).
