BuyerAert Dircksz. bancketbacker in de Gasthuyssteegh
Buyer FamilyDircksz., Aert [van der Haer]
Buyer NotesOn 20 August 1616, Aert Dircksz. (he signs Aert Dircksen van der Haer), from Bommel, sugar baker, 22 years old, living on the Nieuwe Dijck, was betrothed to Pietertge Jacobs, 24, assisted by Jacob Cornelisz. and Pietertge Adriaens, her father and mother (DTB 420/270). He was apparently a pastry maker as well as a sugar refiner. On 25 February 1625, he bought cruyderijen from a sale of spices and other wares belonging to Pieter Mercijs. His surety was Abraham Danckertsz. He was said to be living in the Gasthuyssteech (WK 5073/957). On Abraham Danckertsz., married to Maria Mostart, who was a spices merchant, see the NOTES to R 25568. The buyer of this lot is almost certainly identical with Aert Dircksz. Cruijdenier who bought some tulips from Francoijs Schot (R 23342) and was summoned for payment on 25 June 1637 (NA 675, fol. 85vo, Not. J. Warnaertsz., Extracten).

Buyeridem [Lambert Jacobsz. de man in huys]
Buyer FamilyJacobsz., Lambert (Focker)
Buyer NotesOn 26 September 1615, Lambert Jacobsz. Focker, stadtsbrander van de zeepvaten (he made marks on soap vats for the city), 28, living on the Oudebrugsteech, assisted with Jacob Lambrechtsz., his father, was betrothed to Duyfe Jans, widow of Franck Snoeck (9 years) (DTB 419/226). On 15 October 1629, Lodewijck Bartsz., sworn brander of the zeepvaten, declared at the request of Lambert Jacobsz., likewise brander, that he had heard that a third brander would be named. The soap boilers had promised to pay him at the same rate as the other two. The promise had not been kept. This had done great harm to the requirant. Asked for the cause of this, Barthout Willemsz. (soap boiler) had answered: Because you and your father are branding vats for the merchants and not for us (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven, R.G.P. 78(1933), p. 683).
