BuyerJan Jacobsz. van de vrunden
Buyer FamilyJacobsz., Jan (Coeckebacker)
Buyer NotesThe buyer is presumed to be Jan Jacobsz. (Benningh) Coeckebacker at whose request the goods of Tryn Gerrits were sold. He is presumed to have been the son of Jacob Jansz. Coeckebacker who was living near the Waterpoortsbrug in 1606 (GAA, 143/35 F 1042). Jan Jacobsz. Coeckebacker and his wife Trijntje Henrix had their daughter Trijntje baptized on 7 September 1626 in the N.K. in the presence of Maritje Jacobs (DTB 40/360). Jan Benningh Coeckebacker was portrayed by Dirck Barendsz. in the Corporaalschap of Captain Reynst Pietersz. in 1585 (Blankert, Amsterdams Historisch Museum, p. 404). On 27 September 1636, the honorable Neeltie Cornelis Kanters, widow of Jan Jacobsz. Benningh, gave a procuration to the honorable Jan Benningh Koeckebacker de jonge, her son, and Hendrick Barentsz. Wachtman to act in her name and to settle differences that had arisen with her schoonsoon Nicolaes Doublet (NA 995, film 1225, Not. G. Coren). On 13 October 1636, Jalmer Hendricx, goldsmith, 35, made a disposition at the request of Neeltge Canters, widow of Jan Benningh Coeckebacker (I), concerning some jewels that had been coommissioned from the jeweler (NA 597, fol. 573, Not. Lamberti). Her son Jan Benningh Coeckebacker de jonge (II), cited in the above procuration, born about 1592, declared on 14 November 1635, at the request of Neeltge Claes Coeckebacker (the daughter of Claes Jacobsz. Coeckebacker of R 28510) that the capital action of 700 f. that she had inherited from Jan Benninck Coeckebacker I had been included in the accounting of Claes Jacobsz. Coeckebacker (who had died in 1633) (NA 695A, film 4821, Not. J. Warnaerts). Jan Benninck Coeckebacker II married Maria Andries on 3 June 1629 (De Navorscher 55(1905). On 29 August 1629, Marretge Adriaens and Jan Benninck (II) had their daughter Jannetje baptized in the presence of Arent Tholincx and Lijsbet Bennincx (ibid.)
