Buyer Notes | The buyer, at whose request the sale was held, was the father of the children under age of the late Dirckgen Wouters (Cievits ?). On 4 December 1627, shortly after this sale was held, Louys Pongie, from Doornik, innkeeper (herbergier), widower of Dirckje Cievits, was betrothed to Stijntje Jans, from Bommel, widow (5 1/2 years) of Gerrit Jansz. Coerts (DTB 432/486). As befits an innkeeper, he owed a large sum (138 f. 2 st.) for wine delivered, to the estate of Truijtie Pieters, wine dealer, the wife of the jeweler Hans Jansz. (INVNO 456). On 13(?) October 1636, Thomas Maes made a deposition at the request of Stijntje Jans, wife of Louis Ponje, regarding certain events that had taken place in the inn de Vergulde Pauw (presumably Ponje's inn) (NA 372, fol. 155, Not. W. Cluyt). Louwis Ponie, coming from the Regulierspoort, was buried on 10 April 1637, leaving no children (DTB 1130/69). |
