Buyer | Hendrick Boel Dircksen |
Buyer Family | Boel(ens), Hendrick Dircksen |
Buyer Notes | Hendrick Dircksz. Boelens, born in 1586, was the son of Dirck Hendricksz. Boelens, merchant in the Warmoesstraet in de Vogelstruys, who, at his death, left assets valued at about 72,000 f. (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 117). On 11 May 1607, Hendrick Dircksen Boelensz., 21 years old, living on the Warmoesstraet, assisted by his snop Gerard van der Nieuburch, was betrothed to Femmetgen van Veelen Gerards, 18, living on the Rockin, assisted by her father Gerard van Veelen (of R 21172) (DTB 412/246). He was still living in the Vogelstruys when he bought lots 3 f. 12 st. in the Haarlem lottery of 1606 (GAA 51/35 F 395). On 8 February 1638, Trintje Sonenschijn, 26, maid in the house of Hendrick (Dircksz.) Boelisz., living opposite the Appelboom, at the sign of the Struys, and Thymen Thymessen, 33, house carpenter, testified at the request of Jean Lethoir (Le Thoor), cited in the NOTES to R 8218, resident merchant, that the requirant had been insulted by an old man, whom they described (NA 952, Not. B. Baddel). On 12 July 1638, Hendrick Dircksz. Boelens sold his part in the house De burgh in the Warmoesstraat (Kam, Waar was dat huis in de Warmoesstraat?, 1968 36/21, p. 369). He was the brother of Govert Boelisz. of INVNO 565 and the guardian of the latter's son Adriaen in 1638 (Kam, op.cit. sup.) Heinrick Boelisz. and Femmetje van Veelen had their daughter Celijtgen baptized in the O.K. on 13 June 1613 in the presence of Hans Willemsz. (Elbinck) (of INVNO 516), Klaertje Koenraets, and Govert Boelisz. (of INVNO 565) (DTB 5/69). In 1631, Hendrick Boelisz., living on the East side of the Keysersgracht, apparently in the same house as his brother Govert Boelisz., paid a tax of 400 f. (Kohier, fol. 301vo, p. 69). Hendrick Dirck Boelisz. was buried in the O.K. on 28 September 1638 (Elias, op. cit. p. 117). Hendrick Dircksen was the Regent of the Rasp- en Tuchthuis in 1619 and of the Spinhuis in 1626 (ibid.). It is not clear how Hendrick Dirck Boelensz. was related to procureur Hendrick Boelisz., married to Weijntgen Engelsdr., whose goods were sold by the Orphan Chamber on 8 April 1627. The procureur himself died before 9 November 1634 (see the TEXT of R 1179 of MOntias1). Femmetje van Veelen, widow of Hendrick (Dirck) Boelisz., was buried in the O.K. on 27 September 1659 (DTB 1047/30). |
