BuyerHendrick Ariaensz.
Buyer NotesThe buyer may be identical with Hendrick Arentsz., the merchant or the beer distributor, of R 32589. The fact that the next lot was bought by Grietge Henrick Arents, the apparent daughter of Hendrick Arentsz., upholds this conjecture.

BuyerSoutholm [...] syn wyff
Buyer FamilySoutholm (wife of)
Buyer NotesThe buyer is probably the wife, Aeltjen Jacobs, of Gerrit Hendricksz. Southolm (of R 31769), who, after the death of the latter in the same year 1601, remarried with Jacob Jacobsz. Seeu, schipper, the presumed brother of the late owner of the goods sold, on 2 November 1605 (DTB 411/609.) Gerrit Hendricksz. Southolm lived on the Nieuwen Dijck in de drie kievitten. Jacob Jacobsen Seeu lived in de groen Vijffhoeck on the Niewen Dijck in 1606 when he bought lots in the Haarlem lottery (GAA, 53/68 F 420). The daughter of Gerrit Southolm and Aeltjen Jacobs, named Lijsbeth Gerrits (1587-1618), married Gijsbert Tjebbesz. Popta, the son of Tjebbe Popta of R 27751, on 14 May 1606 (DTB 411/737 and Elias, Vroedschap. p. 312.) On 9 March 1601, Gerrit Southolm, merchant in Amsterdam, freighted a ship with Jacob Jacobsz. from Monnikendam to sail to Norway to fetch lumber (Winkelman, Bronnen voor de geschiedenis van de Nederlandse Oostzeehandel R.G.P., 184(1983), p. 11). Heyndrick Gerritsz. Southolm, another child of Gerrit Hendricksz. Southolm, died before 18 February 1625, when Jacob Jacobsz. Seeu was named guardian over his daughter, along with Gijsbert Tjebbesz. (WK 5073/513, fol. 28). On 25 March 1625, Weyntgen Raephorst, together with her father and guardian Willem van Raephorst, appeared before the Orphan Chamber to present her daughter Rachel, out [left blank], whose late father was Heyndrick Gerritsz. Southolm. One of the assets coming to the daughter was a house op 't Water and a seepsyderye (soap-boiling works) (WK 5073/789).
