BuyerJacob Jansz. Stout bierschoijer
Buyer FamilyStout, Jacob Jansz.
Buyer NotesOn 25 November 1618, a contract was signed between Willem Jacobsz. Warmont, brewer in Haarlem, and Jacob Jansz. Stout, beer distributor (biersteker) in Amsterdam, according to which the former would deliver beer in exclusivity to the latter (Van Dillen, Bronnen tot de geschiedenis van het bedrijfsleven R.G.P. 78(1933), p. 313.) On 26 March 1626, the masters of the Orphan Chamber named Jacob Jansz. Stout as curator over the goods left by Elbert Pouwelsz. beer distributor (bierbeschoijer) (WK 5073/513, fol. 174vo.) Jacob Jansz. Stout signed the Remonstrant petition of 1628. In 1631, Jacob Jansz. Stout, living on the Bierkay, near the St. Jans straet (near where Neeltge Pieters was living), paid a tax of 50 f. (Kohier, fol. 169 vo., p. 39). On 10 May 1632, the honorable Jacob Jansz. Stout, beer distributor, named his son Henrik Jacobsz. Stout to appear before the aldermen of Amsterdam to effect the transfer to Jan Claesz., sculptor (steenhower) of a certain house on the Conincxgracht located over the Boerenverdriet (NA 991, fol. 25, Not. J. Bosch). On 6 September 1638, Jacob Jansz. Schout, beer distributor, named Dirck Traudinius, attorney before the Court of Leiden, to represent him to collect 799 f. 10 st. for beer delivered from Hendrick Jansz. Mil (NA 1186, fol. 46vo., Not. J. de Vos). Jacob Jansz. Stout was the uncle of [Job?] Pietersz. Uijl, living in Rotterdam, who, as one of the heirs of his wife, named him on 26 June 1636, to collect assets on behalf of Cornelis Huybrechtsz., including a house on the Conincxgracht (NA 991, fol. 58, Not. J. Bosch). Cornelis Huybrechtsz. may possibly be identical with Cornelis Huybertsz. of R 27588.
