BuyerCornelis Pietersz. tinnegieter
Buyer FamilyPietersz., Cornelis (tinnegieter)
Buyer NotesThe buyer was a tinsmith. On 27 May 1611, Cornelis Pietersz., from Alkmaar, 21 years old, tinnegieter, having lived 13 years on the Nieuw Dijck, was betrothed to Grietje Lubberts, 24, living on the Warmoesstraet, assisted by her parents Lubbert Jans and Rijckland Noijen (DTB 415/99). Thus the buyer was the son-in-law of the late Rijckeland Noije. In 1617 and 1618, a dispute arose concerning the inheritance of Rycklant Noije, which was subjected to arbitration (for details see the TEXT of R 800 of Montias1). On 29 January 1619, Lubbert Jansz., cloth dealer, and Cornelis Pietersz., tinsmith (married to Grietgen Lubberts), Francoys de Buys (cited below), hose merchant, Jan Noyen (of R 35562), broker, uncle and closest relative of the children of major age of Lubbert (Jansz), procreated by Rijckland Noyen, attempted to sell de Kraen on the Warmoesstraat for 5,400 f. at auction but it did not sell (J.G. Kam, Waar was dat huis in de Warmoesstraat? 1968, p. 34/14). On 6 December 1622, the Orphan Chamber appointed Cornelis Pietersz. tinnegieter, and Arnoldus van der Vorst as guardians over the children of Lubbert Jansz. and Rijckland Nooyen (WK 5073/513, fol. 8). He remarried with Maijke Wouters on 1 May 1626 (DTB 765/5). On 11 September 1638, Jacob de Gijselaer, wine dealer, acknowledged receiving 750 f. from Cornelis Pietersz., tinsmith, which he had coming from the estate of Francoijs de Buys, for which Cornelis Pietersz. had constituted himself surety (NA 1498, film 1572, Not. J. Oly).

BuyerJan Noij
Buyer FamilyNoij (Noe), Jan
Buyer NotesJan Noij (Noijen or Noe) was the brother of Rycklant Noije of the present inventory. (For a dispute that arose in 1617 and 1618 over the inheritance from Rycklant Noije, which supplies information on the members of the proximate family, see the TEXT to R 800 of INVNO 896). In 1606, Jan Noij, living on the Rockin, bought lots for 1 f. 16 st. in the Haarlem lottery (GAA, 26/24 F 181). In 1616, the heirs of Hans Thijsz. de oude noted in their account book a debt of f. 8: 8:-- to Jan Noije, shoemaker (Arch. Thysz., Leiden University, 112A). On 23 April 1618, Jan Noijen insinuated Salomon Reynertsz. for his failure to meet a payment on an obligation (NA 624, Not. Sybrant Cornelisz.) On 29 January 1619, Lubbert Jansz., cloth dealer, and Cornelis Pietersz., tinsmith (of R 36553) (married to Grietge Lubberts), Francoijs de Buys, hose merchant, and Jan Noyen, broker, attempted to sell the house De Kraen in the Warmoesstraet at auction, but it didn't sell (Kam, Waar was dat huis in de Warmoesstraat? p.34/14). On 27 June 1634, Jan Noyen, broker, and Jan Otten, likewise broker, contracted to set up a brokers' company (NA 771, film 5191).
