On 8 April 1596, Claes Jacobsz. was betrothed to Jeltgen Claes. He was said to be a seijlmacker, 24 years old, and assisted by his father Jacob Gerritsz. Oud and his mother Tryn Claesdr. Jeltgen Claesdr. was 23 and she was assisted by her father Claes Fockertsz. and her mother Rinck Thomasdr. (DTB 407/369). On Jeltge Claes, see R 25469. On 9 January 1614 (error for 1615), the masters of the Orphan Chamber appointed Cornelis Goris, sailmaker (but also ropemaker), as guardian over the children left by Claes Jacobsz. Out.
