BuyerAper Claesz.
Buyer FamilyClaesz., Aper
Buyer NotesThe buyer is probably identical with Aper Claesz., binnenlantsvaerder (pilot on an inland barge), , 29 years old, living on the O.Z. Houttuynen, assisted by his father Claes Hansz., who was betrothed to Pietertge Jans, 27, living on the O.Z. Voorburgwal, on 6 February 1588 (DTB 662/103). On 23 March 1610, Aper Claesz., widower of Pietertge Jans, was betrothed to Trijntge Claes, widow of Antoni Verbruggen (DTB 414/261). Antonis Verbruggen, who passed his testament on 12 March 1609, in which he named three children and his brother Rutger in Harderwijk, invested 1,200 f. in the first subscription for V.O.C. shares (Van Dillen, Het oudste aandeelhoudersregister, p. 247). On 12 November 1609, Cornelis Joppen and Aper Claesz. were named guardians over the goods of Jan Jansz. Appelman (WK 5073/513). Cornelis Joppen (or Jobsz.) was the father of the painter Claes Moyaert. Jan Jansz. Appelman I was the granduncle of the painter Claes Moyaert. Jan Jansz. Appelman II, who was the ward of Cornelis Joppen and Aper Claesz., was apparently his uncle. Jan Jansz. Appelman I traveled to Italy shortly before 1577 (Dudok van Heel in Jaarboek Amstelodamum 68(1976), p. 18). On 20 March 1614, Jan Jansz. Appelman II was named guardian over the children left by Meynsgen de Vogelaer, the widow of Cornelis Baers (WK 5073/513). He may have been a relative of Hereweijer family, of whom the younger Aper Claesz. Herewijer was a known member. Aper Claesz., who had been living on the Breestraet, died on 19 September 1620. His daughter Fitgen, born on 4 January 1594 (of Aper Claesz.'s first marriage), married Everardus Moeselaer on 28 January 1618. When their daughter Petronella was baptized on 15 July 1629, neef Claes Pietersz. Tullip (the famous Dr. Tulp) was present as godfather (I. van Eeghen, Petronella Moeselaer en Dr. Nicolaes Trip Maandblad Amstelodamum 63(1976), pp. 74-5). On 4 February 1636, heer Evert van Moeselaer, doctor in medicine, 42, the honorable Jan Jansz. [...], blue dyer 42, the honorable Pieter Potter, painter, 60, and Mr. Dirck Jansz., 39, surgeon, made a deposition at the request of Anthony van Salingen, living in the Breestraet, captain in the service of the admiralty, about a man dressed in black with a bare knife in his hand (NA 949, film 1171). On 14 January 1638, Dirck Jansz., surgeon, and Hansken Doedes, each for one half, sold a house in the Houttuynen (NA 695B, Not. J. Warnaerts). On Dirck Jansz., surgeon, see also the NOTES to R 23002.

BuyerJacob Gerritsz. Haring
Buyer FamilyHaring, Jacob Gerritsz.
Buyer NotesThe buyer was probably the father of the bode of the Orphan Chamber who organized this sale. He assisted his son on the occasion of his betrothal to Lijsbet Pieters in 1601 (R 27290.) On 20 June 1605, Duijff Amen, widow of Gerrit Jacobsz. Harinck, revoked her earlier testament. She willed that her son Jacob Gerritsz. should only be entitled to his legitimate share of the estate, given what he had already received from her. She names the children of Jacob Gerritsz. her universal heirs, including the oldest, named Gerrit Jacobsz., living on the O.Z. Achterburchwal. Jacob must be onderhouden by his children (NA 12, fol. 84, Not. S.Henrix, Extracten.) On 11 February 1636, Jacob Gerritsz., perceleyn vercoper, gave a procuration to Gerrit Jacobsz. affslager (auctioneer) (his presumed son) (NA 949, film 1171, Not. Benedict Baddel).
