Buyer FamilyRutsz., David (III)
Buyer NotesThe buyer was most probably the son of Femmetge Teunis, the owner of the goods sold, and of her husband Rutger Jansz. However, it is very unlikely that he was identical with the important silk cloth merchant David Rutgers III (1661-1669), as Bredius apparently suggested (Künstler-inventare, p. 293). The latter was the grandson of David Rutgheerts I, from Antwerp, (c.1520-1587) and the son of David Rutgers II (1555-1623), also probably born in Antwerp, and of Josina Lamberts (who died in 1638).
