history Ramón and his wife Nercy's collection concentrates on Cuban art from the 1920s to 1960s, which Cernuda calls "la Escuela de la Habana" (School of Havana).

They also collect Cuban colonial art and contemporary Cuban American paintings. Cernuda served on the board of the Cuban Museum of Arts and Culture which, during his tenure, organized major exhibitions of Cuban modern masters.
