Bio / His Notes:
Art collector; Miami, Fla. Born in Havana, Cuba. Cernuda began collecting art in 1973 while living in Puerto Rico, and then in ernest in the 1980s in Miami with his wife Nercys. Their collection concentrates on Cuban art from the 1920s to 1960s, which Cernuda calls "la Escuela de la Habana" (School of Havana). They also collect Cuban colonial art and contemporary Cuban American paintings. Cernuda served on the board of the Cuban Museum of Arts and Culture which, during his tenure, organized major exhibitions of Cuban modern masters.
