history Rachel "Bunny" Lambert Lloyd Mellon was an American horticulturist, philanthropist, fine arts collector and horse breeder.

Bunny was the daughter of Gerard Barnes Lambert, president of Gillette Safety Razor Co. and a founder of the Warner-Lambert. Her mother was the former Rachel Lowe (later Mrs. Malvern Clopton).

Mrs. Mellon was married twice; she was married her first husband, Stacy Barcroft Lloyd Jr., from 1932-1948 (divorced); and her second, Paul Mellon (1907-1999), in 1948.

In addition to building an art collection with her husband, Paul Mellon (1907-1999), Bunny built her own collection of works of art and related artifacts concerning gardens, gardening, landscape design, horticulture, and botany.

Rachel Mellon designed the Rose Garden and Jacqueline Kennedy Garden at The White House in Washington, D.C.
