history Katherine "Kitty" Harvey, the granddaughter of the founder of the Fred Harvey Company was an art collector and philanthropist.

Her collection included Indian ceremonial paintings and artifacts. She established the Santa Rosa Island Expedition fund, which enabled the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History to conduct expeditions to the island.

She was a member of the Colony club of New York and served as the director of the Santa Barbara Museum.
