Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was an art and jewelry collector, actress, perfume maker, philanthropist. The bulk of Taylor’s collection was French Impressionist art, her collection included works by, among others, Pablo Picasso, Maurice Utrillo, Edgar Degas, Georges Rouault, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Mary Cassatt, Amedeo Modigliani, Maurice de Vlaminck, Vincent van Gogh, Frans Hals and Andy Warhol. Both her father, Francis Taylor (1897–1968), and great-uncle, Stephen "Howard" Young (1878–1972), were art dealers. |
