Commentary	On 2 June 1616, Jacob Pietersz. Codde, 26, living in the Calverstraet, assisted by his mother Maria Roeloffs, was betrothed to Lysbeth Claes Hollesloot, assisted by her sister-in-law Maria Jacobs (DTB 668/29). Maria Jacobs was the wife of Jan Claesz. Hollesloot, stone dealer. For her death inventory, see INVNO 278 of 30 September 1630. Jacob Codde was buried on 7 May 1666. For further details, see the NOTES to R 8318 of Montias2. On Jacob's brother Marten Codde, see R 21399, and on Roeloff Codde, another brother, see R 7591 of Montias2 and INVNO 1272. The family was Roman Catholic. On 9 January 1647, the creditors of Jacob Codde signed an agreement whereby he was allowed to pay only a fraction of his debts. Among these numerous creditors may be mentioned Pieter de Latfeur (of R 20047 of Montias2), for himself and for Abraham Holman, Cornelis van der Mije (cited in the NOTES to R 24922 and R 32467 of Montias2), Caspar Ruts (cited in the NOTES to R 20393 of Montias2), Marten Codde (of R 21399 of Montias2), Daniel Bernarts (of R 32161 of Montias2), Balthasar, Joseph, and Jan Coeymans, and David and Jacob Lancelot van Gansepoel and the heirs of Paul van Gansepoel (cited in the TEXT of R 516 of Montias1 and in the NOTES to R 24908 of Montias2).
