Commentary | Rachel Godin was buried in the Westers Kerck on 20 May 1669. On David van Baerle and Rachel Godin, see the NOTES to R 20459 of Montias2. The house in which David van Baerle died on the Keisersgracht had been built in 1618 by Hendrick de Keyser for Rogier Ramsden (of INVNO 193) and was acquired by Van Baerle in 1639 (E. van Houten, Grachten, p. 52). Charles Godin, who was Rachel Godin's brother, was the second of this name (see the TEXT of R 805). Rachel and Charles Godin (II) were children of Charles Godin I and of Rachel le Carlier, alias Rideur (Elias, Vroedschap van Amsterdam, pp. 570-580). |
