Marginal note: Compareerde Willem Canter ende Pieter Provoost ende hebben tsamen ende elck in solidum by desen gestelt borgen voor de meublen, huysraet ende anders bevonden in den boedel van Albert Canter.
CommentaryAlbert Canter was probably related to the herring merchant Marten Canter, a buyer at WK auction (R 26502), and to his surety Willem Canter but the family lineation has not been found. From the numerous New Testament paintings (including Maria and child) in the inventory, it may tentatively be concluded that Marten Canter was Roman Catholic.
