Weyntje van Neck, mitsgaders juffr. Catharina en Elisabeth van Neck Jacobs. item de Heeren Jacob van Neck Barentsz. en Mr. Symon van Hooren, raeden deser stede, ten huyse van de voors. Margareta van Hoorn, gestorven is opden Schans binnen deser stede. Postscript: Aldus gedaen ende gepriseert ten overstaen als boven ter presentie van Gillis Valckenier ende Gerrit Brant als getuijgen.
Commentary	Jacob Cornelisz. van Neck, the husband of Margareta (Griete) van Neck, was the son of Cornelis Barendsz. and of Weyn Pieters van Neck. He was born in 1564 and died on 8 March 1638. Margareta van Neck, daughter of Jacob Egbertsz. and Maria Claes Gaeff (see the NOTES to R 27935 of Montias2), was born in 1585 and died on 18 November 1652. Jacob Cornelisz. van Neck was a member of the Vroedschap from 1621 until his death in 1638. He paid a tax of 300 f. in 1631. He was burgomaster in 1622, 1623, 1625 and 1626. He was admiral of a fleet that sailed to the East Indies in 1598 (freighted by the Nieuwe Compagnie van de Vaart op Oost Indie) and returned with the ship Hollandia to Texel on 27 July 1599 laden with spices. He lived, first, on the O.Z. Voorburgwal and later on the Oudeschans. His daughter Weyntge van Neck (1610-1682) married Jean Le Gouche (1588-1669) on 8 May 1635. His other daughter Maria van Neck (1612-1645) married Ferdinandus Schuylenburch (of R 25764 of Montias2) on 11 January 1639 (Elias, Vroedschap van Amsterdam, pp. 335-6). His son Jacob (Jacobsz.) van Neck II was born on 1 April 1629. He died unmarried on 13 January 1687. He served in the Vroedschap from 1662 until his death in 1687 (Elias, op.cit. p. 520). Jacob Barendsz. van Neck of INVNO 1256 was born in Texel in 1602. He was a member of the Vroedschap from 1652 to 1673 and left Amsterdam in that year in the wake of his bankruptcy.
