CommentaryOn 26 September 1636, Cornelis Nason, wax bleacher, 40, and Thobias de Vos, 37, testified at the request of Carel Looten (the father of Jan Looten of INVNO 286) and Christiaen Bockellion, merchants, concerning a lot of wax which Looten and Bockellion had bought from Philips Pelt (of R 28903 of Montias2) on 7 August last and sent to the waxbleaching works of the witnesses for bleaching purposes. The wax was found to be contaminated and falsified, as had been shown to Pelt (NA 694B, film 4980, Not. J. Warnaerts). On 29 February 1636, a compromise was signed by Paulus Emtingh (de jonghe), of INVNO 104 and Cornelis Nason concerning some accounting (NA 695A, film 4981). It is probable that Cornelis Nason was related to Hubert Nason cited in the NOTES to R 20435, but the precise relation could not be ascertained. Jan Legoechie, who supervised the drafting of the inventory along with the butcher Jan Pietersz. Boon, was probably the merchant and insurer Jean Legouche (cited in the TEXT of R 1112 of Montias1 and in the NOTES to R 7591 of Montias2).
