Introduction	Op den 29 september 1622 zyn vercocht de achtervolgende goederen achtergelaten bij Jan Vincenten Koster voor gereet gelt mits dat die die borgen hebben gestelt genieten den tijt van zes weecken.
Commentary	Jan Vincentsz. Koster (or Coster) was the son of Vincent Jacobsz. Coster, who died in 1608 and was the owner of a doolhof (insane asylum). Jan was acijnsmeester van de bieren (he controlled the collection of taxes on beer). His portrait was engraved by Jacob Matham in 1603, at which time he was said to be 28 years old. His year of birth (1575) is confirmed by a document of 1613 where he was said to be 38 (Oud Holland 6(1888), p. 106). He was the brother of Aeltgen Vincentsdr., born in 1580, who married Daniel van Genegen (or Genega), wine merchant in Amsterdam, in 1607. Daniel van Genegen is mentioned as a buyer in the sale (R 20520 of Montias2) and as the uncle of the children left by Jan Vincentsz. Koster (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 21). Vincent Coster was the son of Jacob Jansz. Coster and the nephew of Dr. Marten and Hendrick Coster, whose portraits are recorded in the present inventory (R 7198 and R 7199 of Montias2).
