Commentary	The extensive genealogy of the Plemp family was published by I. van Eeghen in De Navorscher 92(1950), pp. 106-145 (she apparently was not aware of the present inventory, which could have added a couple of details to her genealogy, including the family name of Ludewijn Cornelis). The apothecary Pieter Barentsz. Plemp, born about 1603, was the son of Barent Foppen Plemp (1577-1644) and Ymmetgen Pieters. He was the grandson of Tryntge Cornelis Plemp and the great grandson of Cornelis Cornelisz. Plemp. The sister of Tryntge Cornelis, named Bely Cornelis, was married to Gysbert Pietersz. Plemp, whose son, Cornelis Gysbertsz. Plemp (of R 21978 of Montias2) was a well-known poet and friend of Vondel. Pieter Barentsz. was thus the cousin of Cornelis Gysbertsz. Plemp. Pieter Barentsz. married Anna Francen Sael on 17 June 1629 and Ludewijn Cornelis (Beun) on 22 July 1640. He paid a tax of 15 f. in 1631. In 1641, he lived in the Breestraet, near the St. Anthonissluis (near Rembrandt). Cornelis Cornelisz. Beun, cited in the INTRO was presumably his brother-in-law. Nelletje Francen was presumably the sister of his first wife Anna Francen. Marten Calschuer, one of the individuals at whose request the present inventory was drawn up, cited in the INTRO, came from a well-known R.C. family, most of whom were wine dealers or distributors (see INVNO 503). He passed his testament on or about 10 July 1638 (NA 696A, not. J. Warnaerts). Pieter Barentsz. must have died shortly before 7 July 1650 when the present inventory was taken (I. van Eeghen, suggested before 1653).
