Commentary | Maritje Coerten was the daughter of Coert Heyndricksz. (1577-1609) and Lysbeth Cornelis (1569-1639) (Jaarboek Amstelodamum 73(1981), p. 49). Claes Velt (signs Feld) II was the son of Claes Felt I who died before 6 December 1606 when his brother Cornelis Felt was named guardian over his children (WK 5073/513, fol.127). On Cornelis Felt, see the NOTES to R 29736 of Montias2. On 11 September 1643, Claes Felt (II), from Amsterdam, widower of Stijntje Schonemans, silk merchant, living in the Calverstraet, was betrothed to Marritie Courten (signs Coerten), from Amsterdam, widow of Pieter Dircksz. Bontepaert, living in the Dijckstraet (DTB 677/145). On the painter Pieter Dircksz. Santvoort (alias Bontepaert), see R 23103. Stijntje Schonemans, the first wife of Claes Velt, was the sister of Maritje Schonemans of INVNO 192. Gerrit Blycker, painter, owed 19 gulden 11 stuivers to the estate, probably for silk goods purchased. Maritien Courten, wife of Claes Felt, was buried on 6 October 1648, coming from the Calverstraet, Bells were rung, suggesting that she was R.C. (DTB 1046/86vo). Nicolaes Felt was buried in the O.K. on 15 September 1670 (DTB 1047/186). | |
