Commentary | Jacob Rotgans, born in 1624, Commissaris van de Monsteringe in Holland, living on the Rapenburg in Amsterdam, Regent of the Dolhuis (Insane Asylum) from 1654 to 1662, married Magdalena Timmerman on 7 January 1653. Magdalena Timmerman II, the daughter of Paulus Timmerman II (of INVNO 475) and of his first wife Magdalena Camp, was born in 1631. Jacob Rotgans was the son of Lucas Jacobsz. Rotgans I and the brother of Lucas Jacobsz. Rotgans II of R 24924 and of Elisabeth Rotgans (1608-1680) (Elias, Vroedschap, p. 170).
