Commentary | On 17 April 1614, Pierre de Horst was betrothed to Lucretia de Martin (DTB 418/48). On 15 October 1622, Pieter de Horst, from Antwerp, caffawercker, 22 years old [crossed out], widower of Lucretia de Martyn, living on the Bloemgracht, was betrothed to Ytgen IJpens, 22, assisted by her father Ypen Ypensz., living on the Prince Gracht (DTB 427/279). Ypen Ypensz. is likely to be identical with the comforter of the sick (sieckentrooster) Ybe Ybesz. of R 22046 of Montias2, also named Ype Ypensz. On 28 June 1637, Pieter de Horst and Etje Yppens had their son Willem baptized in the N.K. in the presence of Abel Fransz. (DTB 42/30). On 13 August 1644, Jacob Louies, widower of Anna Jans, was betrothed to Ytje Ypens, widow of Pieter Horst (DTB 461/4). Pieter de Horst II, the son of Pieter Horst I, and Johannes Spanier, married to his daughter Janneken van der Horst, had received letters from the Court giving them benefit of inventory. | |
