IntroductionOp den 30 martij anno 1626 zijn vercocht dese naervolgende goederen achtergelaten bij Pieter Boddart
CommentaryOn 8 July 1610, Pieter Boddart, from Nieukerck in Vlanderen, 30, living on the O.Z. Voorburchwal, was betrothed to Marie Bave, from Cologne, assisted by her father Denijs Bave (DTB 414/431). Denijs Bave was a buyer at auction and a freighter (see Montias 2, R 28887.) On 9 July 1619, Denis Bave named his son-in-laws Pierre Bodart (Boddart) and Pierre Bave (presumably Marie Bave's brother) to represent him and handle his affairs while he was away on a voyage (NA 381, fol.9). His swager Gillis de Pluis (or Plouijs) of R 20715 of Montias2 may have married his sister. It is not clear whether the owner of these goods is identical with Pieter Boudart, whose widow, named Barbara Berrewijns, was cited in an appearance before the Orphan Chamber on 15 May 1629 and in an inventory dated 29 April 1634 (NA 563A, fol. 54 and foll. and INVNO 1137). She may have been the second wife of Pieter Boddart or Boudart and the sister of Barnard Berwyns cited in R 20713 of Montias2.
